Dr Kate Sala

DR LEAH HEISS

Dr. Kate Sala is a fashion educator, designer and academic who holds particular interest in transformative learning and teaching strategies which foster a greater sense of ownership and accountability amongst designers. Kate's research investigates the educators role and responsibility in creating transformative experiences of fashion and sustainability. Kate has worked with fashion houses and creative agencies across Europe within a variety of capacities ranging from fashion production and design to communication and marketing. Kate holds a PhD in fashion and textiles from RMIT University; this research project sort to advance dialogue around critical fashion pedagogy in order to empower designers to practice with more consideration for the ethical and environmental implications of their choices. Kate possess particular knowledge of sustainable garment design, production, and the communication of transparency in supply chain dynamics.
