Dr Shadi Houshyar
School of Engineering
Shadi is a Vice-Chancellor’s Research Fellow in the School of Engineering at RMIT University. She has recently received VC fellowship and undertaking research program on developing polymers/biomaterials for medical application. She received her PhD from School of Science at RMIT University. Following her graduation, she joined PolyNovo Biomaterials Pty Ltd, and her research focus was on biomaterials for human application. She, then received a post-doctoral position at CSIRO, where she carried on her research in the field of bio-conjugated polymer for drug delivery and development of nano-composite for medical application. She joined the RMIT University in 2012 as a material scientist and has recently awarded a Vice Chancellor’s Research Fellowship in 2018. Her research interests are in the field of biomaterial, bio-conjugated polymers, flexible implant, medical textiles and advanced manufacturing, including electrospinning, 3D printing and melt extrusion for tissue engineering and nanomedicine applications.
